[opinion post]

It was at a press conference on May 27th that the President shared that personal exchange with his 11-year old daughter, Malia; in reference to the BP oil spill in the US Gulf Coast.

There should be no confusion that BP is at fault here, we could point to the entire oil drilling industry, but today we won't – we'll focus on BP since they're the ones spewing thousands of gallons of crude oil into the waters off the coast of the US.

On a slight tangent, what upsets me about “organized media outlets” is what old crazy Glenn Beck did on his show shortly after that press conference. He literally went after the President's daughter, in a personal attack!! What the hell Beck? To quote his own words:

That's the level of their education, that they're coming to – they're coming to daddy and saying ‘Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?'

Shame on you Beck and your “apology” that you issued only hours after saying that was worthless as well.

In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates. The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize–and as a dad I should have known better.

At the end of this ordeal who are you going to look to as the rightful responsible party for this occurrence? BP, the US Federal Government, the oil industry as a whole? Chime in with your comments.
